The Best of Star Wars magic

The joy the hosts bring to each episode is absolutely infectious. From a deep well of lore they fill in everything that makes you appreciate each TV episode even more. The Force is strong with these ones.

Mac’s Nervous Giggle

The only thing keeping this pod from being 5 stars for me is Mac’s constant giggling. It comes off as a nervous laugh which I get it but Christ buddy you’ve been doing this for years now, have some confidence and get over the nerves. The constant giggling undermines any valid point that gets mafe.

Positive, upbeat show

Not only do they go scene by scene, having focused discussions, but they’re positive! They don’t try to nitpick every single thing. You can tell they want Star Wars to be a joyful experience! Hands down the BEST for Mandalorian coverage. Wonderful Ahsoka coverage. THE BEST!

Great for Star Wars nerds

I love listening to this show, they are huge Star Wars nerds but kind and real fans. They are two men who stan female characters just as much as male characters which is not always the case in the larger fandom. Great listen.

The Force Is Strong In Them

As a POC, I have become increasingly dismayed by white male fan boys who cannot stand the fact that more women and POC are appearing both in front of and behind the camera in their fave IP. Stars Wars is very much a victim of this crowd of angry boys complaining about people messing with their stuff. Have searched high and low for a podcast that does not skew this way and finally found it in Children of the Watch. These two get it. It is entertainment and sometimes the writers want you to do some of the thinking rather than spoon feed you the story plot point by plot point. They are not afraid to think some instead of getting angry. And even when something bothers us all - like how come a light saber thru the body can kill Qui-Gon but nobody else these guys don’t make a federal case about it. Finally, they don’t talk for 3 hours about a 40 minute show like some podcasters feel they need to do. This is the podcast you are looking for.

The kindest show

These guys are the nicest Star Wars guys in the podcast realm. They have fun theory conversations without getting mean, rant-y or antagonistic. They take the time to explain things so everyone can be a part of the conversation. Such a nice safe place to enjoy and talk about Star Wars. Well done.

Personalities

I really like Alex and Mac’s personalities. They provide a balance of enthusiastic nerdiness and and whimsy! I like it when people aren’t bogged down by the realities of real world and can just come up with a clever variety of theories… I like their enthusiasm for Ashoka, which I’m really enjoying! Thanks for the entertaining podcasts and keep up the good work!

I’m a huge Star Wars nerd, but these guys have me beat, and I love it! I love they point out all the Easter eggs I miss and what not. Great after-show! Must have for any level of fandom. My favorite after show of 8 different ones I’m subscribed to. 😁

My favorite Star Wars centric podcast

Jumped into the show this summer in anticipation of Ahsoka and it has not disappointed. I had watched all the feloni verse shows but used this pod as a way to catch up on the rebels and mandalorian storylines I may have forgotten going into the new series. The hosts have a lot of knowledge while not being too bogged down in the details of it all so it’s consumable for someone that only has a bit of Star Wars lore in their head. My only real complaint of the show would be Mac’s constant need to nervously laugh at the end of any theory or sentence he is not 100% sure of. He frequently ends his sentences with an awkward laugh as if he is unsure about what he just said or how it will be received. Mac, you have a lot of bona fides and a large podcast with a ton of support- say what you mean and say it with confidence.

Great Scene by Scene Pod Review of Star Wars Shows

Awesome Star Wars pod

Alex and Mac are knowledgeable in all things Star Wars and make great connections and insights about the newest Star Wars shows. They often point out inconsistencies or questionable storylines with a good natured laugh but are never overly critical. And still they can express differing viewpoints without contentiousness. What an awesome force ability in these polarizing times! They genuinely love Star Wars (who wouldn’t!). My favorite SW pod hands down.

Great podcast

Amazing, deep knowledge and background. Very literary guys who break down these episodes like an advanced literature class professor would do in college. Request: keep talking about the Mandalorian plot line going on at the same time as Ahsoka. Is the whole Thrawn cult and supporters running in parallel track to the Moff Gideon program or the expanded Moff leadership circle trying to get Palpatine back? In other words, is there a group trying to bring back Empire power back under Thrawn instead of under Palpatine?

Good clean fun,. Great insight into the Mandoverse and all things Star Wars. At first I thought this podcast would be to nerdy for me, but I’m totally hooked and these guys have got me reading the old, Expanded Universe, Thrawn books. Now I’m the Star Wars nerd and LOVING it 😝
